About YLC
The Henrico PAL Youth Leadership Council (YLC) empowers youth ages 12 to 18 with the tools, confidence, and experiences they need to become tomorrow’s leaders. This dynamic program is designed for career-minded students who are eager to grow as individuals, serve their communities, and gain real-world leadership experience.
Through engaging workshops, group projects, and mentorship, participants learn directly from influential leaders across government, private industry, and nonprofit sectors. Monthly meetings focus on key areas of leadership development, including public speaking, decision-making, goal-setting, and teamwork.
In addition to hands-on training, YLC members take part in impactful community service initiatives each month—putting their leadership skills into action and making a difference where it matters most.
Whether they aspire to lead in business, public service, or their local neighborhoods, the Youth Leadership Council helps shape responsible, confident, and service-driven young adults.
