Basketball Clinic
Join Former NBA star Johnny Newman and the Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) for Johnny’s “School of Basketball”. The camp is designed for boys and girls, ages 8 to 14 years old, and is for all skill levels. JNBB camp focuses on improving and enhancing the basic/essential skills of individual and team play. This is accomplished by making sure each camper receives opportunities to participate in individual skills competitions as well as game situations.
Our staff includes former WNBA player Jessie Hicks, former and current college and high school basketball players, basketball coaches, and police officers. An emphasis will be placed on teaching the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, rebounding, defense, and general knowledge of the game. Ratio of campers to staff is a maximum of 10 to 4. The Annual Johnny Newman / Henrico PAL Basketball Clinic also stresses the importance of staying in school, going to college, saying NO to drugs, and being a positive and upstanding citizen.
