Wrestling Program

Our Wrestling Program is a structured, youth-focused athletic initiative designed to build confidence, discipline, and positive relationships through the sport of wrestling. Offered as part of our police-sponsored after-school and summer camp programming, the program provides a safe, supportive environment where youth can learn fundamental wrestling skills while developing life skills that extend far beyond the mat.

Participants are taught proper technique, sportsmanship, and respect for themselves and others by trained coaches and mentors. Wrestling promotes physical fitness, mental toughness, goal setting, and accountability—key qualities that help youth succeed in school, athletics, and everyday life. Through consistent practice and positive role modeling, the program encourages teamwork, resilience, and healthy decision-making.

Our goal is not only to develop athletes, but to empower young people with confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging within their community.

Join Us On The Mat

The Henrico PAL Wrestling Program is offered on a consistent weekly schedule at both Harvie Elementary School and Pemberton Elementary School to ensure regular participation and skill development. Practices are held twice per week at each location during the after-school hours. At Harvie Elementary School, sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, while Pemberton Elementary School hosts practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each practice lasts approximately 60–90 minutes and is led by trained coaches in a safe, structured environment. This schedule allows participants to build skills progressively, maintain physical fitness, and develop discipline while balancing school responsibilities.
